We Carried Out Disaster Training at Our University

The year 2021 has been declared as the "Turkey Disaster Training Year" in order to raise awareness of disasters throughout the society. Within the scope of the "Disaster Training Campaign" launched in all provinces, a series of activities were also held at our university.

Muş AFAD Directorate set up a stand at our university within the context of the trainings organized by the Ministry of Interior to mark the 2021 year as "Turkey Disaster Training Year". In and around the stand, where some practices were carried out about some subjects such as raising awareness in the society, showing how to be prepared for earthquakes, and reducing risks and taking precautions, students were warned about the dangers and risks that may be encountered in disasters. In addition, necessary steps were told about improving individual disaster awareness, disseminating the knowledge that disaster risk can be reduced with the measures to be taken, and preparing individuals for disasters. In this context, while the students were shown the structural and non-structural hazards of earthqkes and the measures that can be taken against these hazards, the trainings were followed with interest by the students. AFAD Presidency called on everyone to volunteer.
