Significant Boost to Our Erasmus+ Budget! €188,261 Grant Awarded to Our University
The Turkish National Agency has announced the 2025 Erasmus+ grant allocations for student and staff mobility. According to the published results, our university has achieved a remarkable milestone with a significant increase in its Erasmus+ KA131 budget.
In 2024, our KA131 budget stood at €109,400. This year, it has risen by 54% to €167,650. In addition, for the first time, our university applied for the Erasmus+ KA171 project, which covers mobility with countries outside the European Union, and secured €20,611 in funding. As a result, our university will receive a total of €188,261 in grants for 2025 — surpassing more than 100 other universities in the Erasmus+ budget rankings.
Thanks to this substantial increase, more of our students and staff will have the opportunity to benefit from education, teaching, and internship experiences abroad.
Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican: “We Are Steadily Advancing Towards Our Internationalization Goals”
Commenting on the achievement, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican stated:
“Since its establishment, our university has shown rapid growth and is steadily strengthening its position in the fields of internationalization and academic mobility. To date, we have sent hundreds of our students and staff abroad through the Erasmus+ Exchange Program, while also welcoming many international students and academics to our campus. I believe these accomplishments will continue to grow, and I extend my congratulations to our Erasmus Office for this success.”
Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Lecturer Yahya Adanır: “We Used Our Budget Effectively and Are Now Aiming Higher”
Our Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Lecturer Yahya Adanır shared his evaluation of the process:
“The strong partnerships we have built with universities across Europe, the effectiveness of our mobility programs, and the meticulous and principled use of previously allocated budgets are the main reasons behind this increase. Since 2020, we have fully utilized every budget allocated to us. In this context, in 2024 our budget saw a 108% increase from €52,250 to €109,400. In 2025, we achieved a further 54% increase, reaching €167,650.
Moreover, under the KA171 project — which we applied for the first time — we have been allocated €20,611 in funding. With a total budget of €188,261, we have surpassed more than 100 universities in the Erasmus+ rankings. This achievement in the Erasmus+ KA131 and KA171 projects is a major contribution to our university’s vision for internationalization. Moving forward, we will continue to support our students and staff with more mobility opportunities, stronger partnerships, and broader prospects.”
