TÜBİTAK Success from Our University’s Project Team: “Development of a Wearable Pneumatic Soft Robot”

Our university has taken another significant step in the field of science and technology with a project team led by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Talat Körpınar. The project, titled “Development of a Wearable Pneumatic Soft Robot Based on Micro Electromechanical Systems for Hand Rehabilitation,” led by esteemed academics Assoc. Prof. Dr. İshak Ertuğrul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Ülkir, and Lecturer Burak Ergüneş, has been accepted within the scope of TÜBİTAK’s 1002 program.

The primary objective of the project is to introduce an innovative technological solution for use in rehabilitation processes. By integrating micro electromechanical systems with pneumatic soft robotics technology, the system aims to enhance rehabilitation with high precision and reliability, ultimately accelerating the recovery process.

Beyond rehabilitation, the project also envisions expanding its technological infrastructure into the livestock sector, aiming to develop new applications that improve animal health and productivity. In this regard, the success achieved is not only expected to contribute to human rehabilitation but also to pave the way for advancements in efficiency and quality of life in animal care.
