Trial Sowings were Made as Part of Field Day Activities

Field day activities were held in the experimental fields that are located in our campus with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat.

In addition to Rector Polat, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş, Secretary General Harun Demir, Muş Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Acting Director Mehmet Gündoğdu, Yıldız Alparslan Agricultural Enterprises Manager Burhan Çam, Muş Meteorology Manager Mehmet Reşit Aydın, Muş Probation Manager Mahmut Kıran, Deputy Secretary Generals Ferit Uslu, Uğur İnan Kaki, Nimet Salkım, Head of Muş Provincial Sheep and Goat Breeders' Association, our university’s administrator, faculty members, guests, and members of the press also attended the event.

After Yıldız Alparslan Agricultural Enterprises Manager Burhan Çam, Muş Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Deputy Mehmet Gündoğdu and Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. After Yaşar Karadağ's opening speeches, the program continued with trial plantings. The participants were informed about more than 100 medicinal and aromatic plant seeds which were planted in the campus within the scope of scientific research. Some of the following plants were sowed in the experimental fields: goji berry, Aronia, currant, tube vine sapling, strawberry, flax, buckwheat, cotton, potatoes, sunflowers, peanuts, sugar beets, bread wheat, durum wheat, barley, grain triticale, chickpeas, red lentils, sesame, black cumin, clover, oats, prunes, fodder peas, fodder triticale, common vetch, Italian grass (milkgrass), sainfoin oat - common vetch forage plant mixture, barley - common vetch forage plant mixture, Hungarian vetch - triticale forage plant mixture, and Muş tulip.

Rector Polat gave information about these studies and indicated that the benefits will be reaped in the future. He finished his speech by thanking all the contributors.
