The technical assistance team, which was formed by MAUN within the scope of aid activities in the earthquake region started to work in Malatya
After the earthquake that covered 10 provinces and caused great destruction, MAUN continues to help the region. The pioneers of the technical team, consisting of 29 personnel in total, reached the region for damage assessment after the volunteers involved in the search and rescue operations, the personnel and students working in the teams formed for the classification and distribution of aid packages. The team of experts will keep a report on the damage carried out in the region after the search and rescue works and will act as an expert. The team that went to Malatya was assigned within the scope of coring and testing concrete samples. The samples collected by the team will be analyzed in the university laboratories and the result reports will be sent to the authorized units. Making a statement on the subject, Rector Polat said, “We have very comprehensive laboratories in this field at our university. By seeing the earthquake reality of our region, the importance of the earthquake, ground, asphalt and construction laboratories, which we have invested in the last 5 years, is better understood now. Our laboratories, which are used in the education of our students and work for our region, will also be at the service of our country in these difficult days."
