Significant Cooperation between MAUN TTO and Malatya Teknokent
With the protocol signed between Malatya Teknokent Technology Transfer Office and MAUN on March 22, 2022, Malatya Teknokent started to provide mentorship support to MAUN Technology Transfer Office (TTO). Within the scope of this protocol, Malatya Teknokent General Manager Assoc. Dr. Adnan Fatih Kocamaz and Malatya Teknokent patent and university-industry cooperation (USI) experts delivered a seminar at our University. Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, vice rectors Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş and Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, academic staff and students attended the seminar where students, graduates, academics and company officials were informed about the importance of firming in technopolis for the country and individuals, its methods, advantages, intellectual property rights (IPR), patent and utility model, university-industry cooperation. Vice Rector and Technology Research and Project Coordination Unit (TAPKOB) Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş inaugurated the seminar with great participation. Prof. Çaydaş emphasized the importance of the signed cooperation protocol for the university, province and region and stated that the joint programs to be organized for the development of the entrepreneurship culture of students, graduates and academicians will bring high value-added achievements to Muş. In this context, he stated that 6 academicians from MAUN presented their projects first and that the submitted projects were accepted to the Compass Pre-Incubation Center and the pre-incubation process was started. Mus Tulip Registration Process to Begin In his statement on the subject, Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat stated that many advantages can be benefited from the bilateral cooperation signed with Malatya Teknokent. Rector Polat said, "Within the scope of this protocol, our academic staff will be able to benefit from University-Industry Cooperation Project (USIP) program of the Inonu University, which is supported by 70k TL, and the established companies will be able to benefit from the tax exemptions of technopolises". Rector Polat stated that within the scope of the protocol signed with Malatya Teknokent, the largest technocity of Eastern Anatolia, the breeding works of Muş Tulip carried out by the Muş Tulip Application and Research Center will be continued together, they would start the work to be done to register the Muş Tulip as a geographical indication and stated that it was decided to continue the Proprietary Seed Production studies in cooperation with Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Assist.
