Rector Fethi Ahmet Polat came together with freshman students and gave information to the students about our university and the campus, and gave them some academic suggestions.
The meeting, which started with the recital of the musical ensemble and continued with the speech of Rector Polat.
In his speech, Polat gave detailed information to the students about the physical spaces and facilities of the university. He said that student clubs organize social, cultural and sports activities, and they contribute to the students’ academic and social life. Underlining that the high number of students in universities, especially in undergraduate and graduate education, is extremely valuable, Polat said, “This year, the number of students has exceeded 13 thousand. Around 13 thousand students started their education in our 10 faculties and 6 vocational schools. The most important point here is the high number of students who continue their education in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs, which are difficult especially in newly established universities. In this respect, we have brought the number of undergraduate and associate degree students closer to each other for the first time. There are as many students studying in our faculties as there are students studying in vocational schools of our university.”
The meeting held at 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center was attended by vice rectors Yaşar Karadağ, Murad Aydin Sanda, Ulaş Çaydaş; deans, academic staff, students and local press.
