MAUN Rector Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat visited the music workshop founded in the Arts House at the Faculty of Education to enable teacher candidates' music development.

Rector Polat examined the workshop where music classes at the Faculty of Education would be held starting from next semester, and received information about the rhythm instruments and ukuleles. Prof. Esin Kaya, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Assoc. Prof. Ayça Kartal, the Deputy Dean, Instroctor Zeyneb Türkoğlu, the coordinator of the music workshop, and Ali Çobanlı, the secretary of the faculty, were present during the visit.

Rector Polat said, "I would like to congratulate Prof. Dr. Esin Kaya, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, and her team for their efforts in establishing this workshop. I would also like to thank Instructor Zeyneb Türkoğlu for leading the establishment of the workshop and working hard in this process."

The studios, enriched with many musical instruments such as orff instruments and ukuleles, are counting the days for student activities in the new semester. Coordinator Türkoğlu said, “The music workshop we established to ensure the musical development of teacher candidates and create a pleasant educational environment includes many rhythm instruments such as drums, xylophones, agogos, boomwhackers, maracas, cajons and ukuleles. Especially ukuleles will ensure that every teacher candidate will graduate from the Faculty of Education with an experience of playing a musical instrument. With the ukuleles, rhythm groups, choir activities and various concerts will be performed by teacher candidates in the new semester. On the other hand, we will carry out archival studies in our well-equipped recording studio that has string, plectrum and wind instruments. We are grateful to our rector, Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat, for his tremendous support in the establishment of this workshop."
