Play & Learn English Project is Launched

The training program organized within the scope of the project called "Play & Learn English! Gamifying Language Teaching and Designing Game-Based Language Activities" was launched. The project is carried out by our university’s English Language Teaching Department and funded by US Embassy Ankara. The R&D department of Mus Provincial Directorate of National Education also supports the project.

The training program for English teachers working in schools in the city center of Muş on the use of games in English lessons and developing game-based activities is held at our university's 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center on May 14-15, 21-22 and 28 May 2022.

Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat attended the first session of the training program, which is coordinated by Dr. Sabahattin Yeşilçınar and Dr. Yusuf Öztürk, and gave a speech to the participating teachers, students, and academic staff. The Rector emphasized the importance of the teaching profession and taking care of students closely and stated that educators should set an example for everyone by displaying an academic stance in every field. Rector Polat gave information about the recent pioneering steps and breakthroughs of our university to English teachers who came to our campus for the first time on the occasion of this training program. He finished his words by congratulating the contributing academic staff in the ELT program.

After the opening speech, the Rector made examinations at the STEM Workshop, Puppet-Karagöz Production Workshop, Wood Workshop and 3D Printer Workshop operating within the Faculty of Education. Later, the Rector met with the Vice Rector Murad Aydın Şanda, Dean of the Faculty of Education Esin Kaya, and academic staff of the ELT department and received information about the overseas projects carried out in the department.
