Our Rector was at the Gazi Parliament at the 2024-2025 Higher Education Academic Year Opening Ceremony

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican attended the programme organised by the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş at the Gazi Parliament in Ankara within the scope of the 2024-2025 Higher Education Academic Year Opening Ceremony. 

Numan Kurtulmuş emphasised the strategic role of universities for the future of Turkey and said: ‘I underline that our universities have an extremely great and important pioneering role in order for the next century to be the century of a Turkey whose word is strong and whose power is influential.’ Stating that universities should have the power to compete not only nationally but also internationally, Kurtulmuş said, ‘Our universities are obliged to raise their own levels through competition, to increase academic quality by providing cooperation between universities and state institutions, to increase high technology production capacity and to become value producing institutions.’

Referring to the importance of preparing young people for great goals in the second century of the Republic, Numan Kurtulmuş expressed his belief in young people by saying, ‘Especially in this process that we see as the Century of Turkey, we need to prepare our young people for great goals.’
At the end of the opening ceremony, Kurtulmuş wished success to the rectors, wishing that the 2024-2025 academic year would be beneficial for all universities and underlined the critical role of universities in Turkey's development.
