Our Rector Attended the HEC Regional Universities Coordination Meeting
Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican attended the Regional Universities Coordination Meeting organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The meeting, hosted by Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, brought together HEC President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and the rectors of 16 universities.
During the meeting, productive exchanges of ideas were held on regional collaboration, inter-university synergy, and the future of higher education.
Speaking at the meeting, HEC President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar made significant remarks on regional development and inter-university cooperation. “By establishing strong collaboration among our universities, we can enhance the efficiency of our higher education system,” said Özvar. He emphasized the importance of developing joint projects by combining the strengths of universities, highlighting that such efforts would contribute both to regional development and to strengthening institutional structures.
President Özvar also referred to the 2030 Vision Meetings, which were launched last year and concluded in February in Istanbul, noting that these meetings laid an important foundation for the future of the higher education system. He underlined that the HEC aims to improve higher education policies by listening to the needs and suggestions of universities. Moreover, he emphasized that the mission differentiation program focusing on regional development would enable universities to contribute more effectively to their respective regions.
