Our Projects on Earthquake were Accepted by TUBITAK
After the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, which caused a great disaster in our country, the studies on the earthquake prepared by the academicians of our university were accepted as the TÜBİTAK 1002-C project.
Project titled "Investigation of the Effects of 7.7 Mw Pazarcık (Kahramanmaraş) and 7.6 Mw Elbistan (Kahramanmaraş) Earthquakes on Geotechnical Structures and Determination of Soil Liquefaction and Problems by Field Observations" conducted by our university member Asst. Prof Abdulhakim Zeybek. Our university academics Asst. Prof İskender Dölek and Asst. Prof Hikmet Tutar Assoc. Dr. Mesut Gör from Fırat University and Asst. Prof Özgür Yıldız from Malatya Turgut Özal University are working as researchers.
Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Food Engineering academicians of our university, Asst. Prof Necattin Cihat İçyer, research assistant Fatih Bozkurt and Namık Kemal University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics asst. prof Ali Çakır and Department of Public Health Assoc. Dr. Yeliz Mercan jointly prepared the project titled "Evaluation of Food Distributed in Earthquake Zones in Terms of Food Safety", our other project accepted within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-C.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat ,regarding the subject, said, “I sincerely congratulate all our researchers who started working on the subject after the disaster that caused thousands of deaths in our country. I fully believe that these efforts will be beneficial to our country and our nation in such disasters. May God not let such a disaster happen to our country again,".
