Our Academics are in the World's Influential Scientists List

1150 scientists from Turkey were included in the list of the most influential scientists in the world, prepared every year by a group of scientists from Stanford University. Among the universities established after 2007 in the Eastern Anatolia Region, three faculty members from Muş Alparslan University managed to enter this ranking. Prof. Talat Körpınar, Prof. Ercan Bursal and Assoc. Prof. Zeliha Körpınar from our university were among the most influential scientists in the world.

The list of the world's most influential scientists was recently published by the Netherlands-based publishing company Elsevier. While the list was being prepared, two categories were created as "career-long impact" and "annual impact". In the creation of the list; International criteria such as the number of qualified publications, the effect of the journal in which the publications are located, the number of patents, the number of citations, the h-index, the hm-index, the number of articles, the number of cited articles and the effect of the journal in which they were published were used.

Accepting the faculty members in his office, our Rector Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat said: “As Muş Alparslan University, we want to increase our scientific activity level and international visibility. In this respect, I sincerely thank our three valuable scientists who represent our university. Hopefully, next year, more professors will be added to this list, and we will be proud of having achieved the scientific success criterion, which is one of the most important outputs of universities. Of course, there are various organizations that ensure the visibility of a university in the media such as panels, workshops, symposiums and socio-cultural, artistic or sporting events; however, internationally registered scientific achievements are very valuable gains for universities. I sincerely congratulate our young academics, who are among the most influential scientists in the world, and wish them continued success.”

The meeting ended with a souvenir photo shoot after the presentation of gifts and plaques.
