Muş Football Workshop Has Been Completed
Muş Alparslan University, Faculty of Sports Sciences organized a football workshop for the first time in Muş.
“Muş Football Workshop” was held on 19-20 August 2021 at 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center. In the workshop, discussions were made on the football history of Muş, how to improve this sports branch and the training of athletes locally, and what needs to be done to make success more sustainable.
Our rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, attended the workshop in which Deputy Mayors of Muş, Abdullah Avcı and Muhterem Bozkurt, Former Muş Mayor, Şerafettin Yatçı, our vice rector, Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Alper Karadağ and other academic unit chiefs, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Emrullah Güler, Muş Federation of Amateur Sports Clubs (MASKF) President, Kemal Türkan, and Turkish Football Coaches Association (TÜFAD) President, Alparslan Has were present. The event also had locally-known guests including Sabahattin Devecioğlu, a lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Fırat University, Aytaç Koyuncu, a local football referee, Ümit Yıldırak, President of the Local Referee Board, Necat Geçer, President of the local branch of Turkish Active Football Referee Observers Association (TFFHGD), Orhan Çağlayan, Principal of Muş Sports High School, Mehmet Şengül, Provincial Director of Tourism, along with local retired footballers, Burhan Kaba, Selami Yatçı, Murat Atmaca and Mehmet Kaya, and businessmen who financially supported local clubs, Mikail Güvenç and Muhammed İkbal Ballı.
The workshop started with the Turkish National Anthem, followed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Kaynar's presentation titled "Historical Process of Football in Muş". After the speech of Prof. Dr. Alper Karadağ in which he explained the sports activities of the Faculty of Sports Sciences in the province, our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat and Deputy Mayor Muhterem Bozkurt greeted the audience.
Following the talk of Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Devecioğlu from Fırat University, Faculty of Sports Science, titled "Football in the World and in Turkey", eight different sessions were held in the workshop.
On the first day of the workshop, the discussion was on “Football Facilities”, “Football Player Sources and Amateur Football”, “Football Coaches”, and “Football Referees and Observers”. On the second day of the workshop, issues such as "Management of Football Clubs", "Football Clubs Participating in the League and Active Age Groups", "Resources in the Amateur Football League", "The Path to Professionalism in Football" were discussed. In the closing session of the workshop in which important sessions on the future of football in the province had been addressed, a series of decisions were taken to be implemented soon.
