MAUN Rector Inspected Scientific Trial Sowing Areas

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican examined the scientific research and trial plantings carried out by the Faculty of Applied Sciences and received information about the studies.

Rector Alican, who examined the scientific trial areas, was accompanied by Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Rector Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, Secretary General Harun Demir, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yenilkalaycı, Lecturer Nurettin Baran, Lecturer Nazlı Aybar and Lecturer Ali Bayram.

Vice Rector and Dean of Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ gave the following information about the scientific research and trials carried out: "In the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants greenhouse, the trials of the tropical origin Dragon fruit, which we brought from Antalya Gazipaşa last year and subjected to trials, and Turmeric, which we brought as 2 genotypes from the Western Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute, have also yielded successful results. The Goji Bery (Wolfberry) project supported by the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies is carried out in cooperation with 5 provinces, 3 Universities and 1 Research Institute."

Prof. Dr. Karadağ stated that for the first time in Muş, the second year studies of a total of 116 varieties of sugar beet trials brought from 30 different countries within the scope of his doctoral thesis have started and continued his words as follows "Within the scope of this study, the varieties with the highest root stem yield and polar sugar ratio will be recommended to our producers. For the first time in Muş, a total of 93 sunflower variety adaptation trials, 83 for oil and 10 for nuts, have been started. Again, for the first time in Muş, sesame consisting of 10 varieties, safflower consisting of 30 varieties and second crop sesame trials consisting of 19 different varieties were also established."

After examining the scientific trials carried out in the Research and Trial Areas of the University Complex, Prof. Karadağ thanked Rector Alican for his support for the scientific studies carried out for the first time in Muş.
