MAUN Rector Explained the Malazgirt Project to the Mufti's Office Officials
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican held an interview with the officials of the Provincial Mufti's Office at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences on "Determination of Malazgirt Battlefield, Historical and Archaeological Survey Project".
In addition to Rector Prof. Dr. Alican, Muş Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, Muş Deputy Provincial Mufti, Advisor to the Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, Chief of Staff Lecturer Ömer Tuna, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences Prof. Dr. Murat Serdar and vice deans attended.
Speaking within the scope of the conversation, our rector Prof. Dr. Alican stated that he has been working on "Malazgirt War and Seljuk History" since 2012 and continued his speech as follows: "Malazgirt is the war that opened the door to Anatolia. In fact, there were not many studies on the Battle of Malazgirt until the 2010s. However, in 2013, with my work titled "Malazgirt 1071", I was privileged to make the first monograph on the Battle of Malazgirt."
