MAUN Rector attended the 7th INCSOC International Social Sciences Congress

MAUN Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat attended the 7th INCSOC International Social Sciences Congress held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan

In addition to Rector Polat, Deputy Chairman of YÖK Prof. Dr. Sefa Kapıcı and Prof. Dr. Rahmi Er and the rectors of nearly 50 universities attended the International INCSOS VII Karabakh/Azerbaijan Social Sciences Congress, opened by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop, President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and Mistress Gafarova, President of the Azerbaijan National Assembly.

In the congress, which was held in countries and cities such as Malaga, Jerusalem, Bukhara, Romania, Skopje and Ankara, which were seen as important touchstones of the Turkish cultural world in previous years, with the aim of increasing cooperation between universities and countries on various issues by keeping academic concerns at the forefront, this year, the issues of the liberation of Karabakh from the occupation and the Khojaly massacre were brought to the agenda.

 

Rector Polat, who made a statement on the subject, stated that the congress made significant contributions to the Turkish cultural world and that they took some decisions on student and academic staff mobility and joint scientific projects between our University and some universities of Azerbaijan.

After the congress, the delegation visited Shusha, the symbolic city of Karabakh. The guests visited Shusha, which is an important city for world history due to its historical and cultural assets, as well as being the homeland of many scientific and cultural people. They had the opportunity to see the unique architectural style, historical and cultural heritage of the city.
