Honey Harvest was organised at our university
The first honey harvest of this year was realised from the honey bee colonies grown in our university.
Due to the rainy spring months and dense floral vegetation, the honey harvest was done early this year. Along with our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican and his wife Assist. Prof. Dr. Songül Alican, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ and Prof. Dr. Kenan Yıldırım, Rector Advisors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yaşar, our Secretary General Harun Demir, Director of Vocational School of Technical Sciences Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatih Şevgin, ARIMER Director Ömer Tuna, Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilek Kabakcı and Research Assistant Mustafa Güneşdoğdu also participated in the honey harvest, which has an important place within the scope of natural and sustainable agriculture studies of our university.
Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ stated in his speech that the regular rainfall and long flowering period this year made it a productive year for beekeeping. Prof. Dr. Karadağ said, "This year our harvest has been very abundant and we are happy to share this success." Prof. Dr. Karadağ thanked our Rector and the accompanying delegation for their visit.
