Great Interest in the opening of the 22nd International Congress on Psychological Counseling and Guidance
The opening sessions of the 22nd International Congress on Psychological Counseling and Guidance hosted by our university, have been completed.
There was great interest in the opening held in the main hall of 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center on Thursday, October 7. On the first day of the congress the President of the Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association, Expert Psychological Counselor Oğuz Özat, the General Director of Special Education and Guidance Services of the Ministry of National Education Mehmet Nezir Gül, our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat and Muş Deputy Mayor Aydın Özarslan also took their places in the protocol. Congress Organizing Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Erdal Hamarta and Provincial Director of National Education Enver Kıvanç were among the guests.
Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat started his opening speech at the congress by greeting the protocol and the participants. In his speech, Polat stated that he is very happy to be hosting the 22nd International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Congress with the theme of Psychological Counseling and Guidance in Developmental and Preventive Mental Health Services.
The first day of the congress began with a classical guitar concert by Guitarist Ferman Karasu and a piano concert by Bager Çalışcı from Muş, who has a good ear for music. After the opening speeches of the congress, the winners of the Empathy Award and Young Researcher Award were announced. Following the opening panel titled “Psychological First Aid in Mass Trauma and Disasters”, paper presentations and workshops were started. More than 80 presentations were made using all halls of 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center. In the congress organized under the title of "Psychological Counseling and Guidance in Developmental and Preventive Mental Health Services", the subthemes such as "school counseling", "counseling practice and supervision", "accreditation in counselor education", "career counseling", "family, marriage and couples counseling", "rehabilitation counseling", "addiction counseling", "counseling and guidance in challenging life events" and "clinical and mental health counseling" were also included. The first day of the program attracting great interest in all presentations ended with the organization of a collective dinner.
