Four of Our Students Passed Away in the Earthquake

We have received sad news about four of our students who were on the semester break.

From the first day of the earthquake, our university was organized and as a first precaution, names of the students residing in the effected areas were listed. A communication system was established to collect and record information about our students and their relatives in effected areas. All students were contacted separately and information was obtained from them. All facilities were mobilized for students and their relatives in need of help.

Four of our students, Nurcan Karaaslan, Ekrem Sayılgan, Çağrı Karagöz and Yusuf Etiker, lost their lives under the rubble. The Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat called the families of four of our students who lost their lives in the earthquake and conveyed his condolences. Our academic and administrative staff participated in the condolences of a student residing in Muş who lost his life and supported his family.
