Centennial Commemoration Ceremony for Our Republic
The 100th anniversary of our Republic continues to be celebrated with enthusiasm throughout our country. Alongside nationwide festivities and various activities, our city also held commemoration ceremonies marking the 100th year of our Republic.
As part of the events commemorating the 100th year of our Republic, a Commemoration Ceremony was held in Kent Square with the participation of our Governor, Avni Çakır, and our Mayor, Feyat Asya.
In this context, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, and his spouse, Dr. Assistant Prof. Songül Alican, along with our Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Prof. Dr. Kenan Yıldırım, our Advisor to the Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of History Chairman Prof. Dr. Sabit Duman, Director of Bulanık Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrşad Sami Yuca, Director of Vocational School of Technical Sciences Dr. Assistant Prof. Fatih Şevgin, and academic and administrative staff from various units of our university attended the commemoration ceremony. In addition, the directors and superiors of various public institutions and organizations in our city, military officials, teachers, and members of the press were also present at the event.
The commemoration ceremony, where students and fellow citizens of Muş gathered in Kent Square to share the excitement of the October 29 Republic Day, began with Governor Avni Çakır and Mayor Feyat Asya laying wreaths at the Atatürk monument. After a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, the commemoration ceremony continued with protocol speeches reflecting on the past, present, and future of our Republic, which is celebrating its 100th year. Governor Avni Çakır and Mayor Feyat Asya took photos with our students and fellow citizens who showed great interest in the ceremony.
The celebration of the 100th year of our Republic continued in the evening as well. At 18:30, our citizens gathered in front of Muş Municipality. Along with Governor Avni Çakır, our Rector Mustafa Alican and his spouse, Dr. Assistant Prof. Songül Alican, Mayor Feyat Asya, and various military officials, public directors, and representatives of various civil society organizations, they organized a torchlight procession from the Municipality Square to the Muş Governorship, forming a procession.
