"Best Cheese Competition" among Women Farmers and "Akpınar Village Agricultural Product Exhibition'' The Event was Held.

In the competition organized in the Alparslan II Dam operation area and attended by 15 women farmers, Muş Alparslan University Vice Rector and Dean of Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Muş Mayor Feyat Asya, ENEGRO-PRO General Manager Murat Dağdeviren, Muş Provincial Deputy Director of Agriculture Eşref Süne, Muş Alparslan University Faculty of Applied Sciences Head of Department of Animal Production and Technology Dr. Lecturer Onur Şahin, EENERGO-PRO Environment, Social, Governance Group Leader Catherine Garcia, as well as Mus Alparslan University Animal Husbandry Student Community, public and private institutions. Prof. Dr. Onur Şahin, EENERGO-PRO Environment, Social, Governance Group Leader Catherine Garcia, as well as the Animal Husbandry Student Community from Muş Alparslan University, representatives of public and private institutions, students and producers.

In the competition area, there was a product exhibition of animal and plant products produced in Akpınar village. Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ stated the following in his speech: "After the theoretical and on-site practical trainings on Milking Hygiene and Quality Cheese Making provided to 15 women farmers in July and August by ENERGO-PRO organization field team and Muş Alparslan University Faculty of Applied Sciences Dr. Faculty Member Onur Şahin, we organized "Best Cheese Competition" and "Akpınar Village Agricultural Product Exhibition" among the women farmers who participated in the training in order to raise awareness. I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican for their support for the best cheese making event within the scope of the project."

Dr. Faculty Member Onur Şahin, who carried out the theoretical and practical trainings of the project, said the following in his speech: "A jury consisting of Faculty of Applied Sciences Faculty Member Orhan Karadağ, Food Engineer Seracettin Özcan and Kamuran Karadağ from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry evaluated the project. As a result of the evaluation made by the jury taking into account the scores given for the taste, texture, smell and appearance of the cheeses as well as the results of the laboratory analysis of the cheeses; Nuriye Koçhan took first place in the competition, Sevda Koç took second place and Sinem Toplu took third place. The first prize was 125,000 TL, the second prize was 100,000 TL and the third prize was 75,000 TL." 

After the competition, the stands where animal and herbal products as well as handicraft products produced by producers from Akpınar village were exhibited were visited and fermented cheese clot was cut by the protocol. The event ended with the breeders who ranked in the competition taking a collective photo with the protocol members to commemorate the day.
