AFAD Volunteer Students Helped Earthquake Victims

Our AFAD volunteer students set out to help AFAD, which took the field on the first day of the disaster and came to the rescue of the disaster victims.

While our AFAD volunteer students went to Adıyaman and Diyarbakır to heal the wounds of the earthquake that affected 10 provinces, our Emergency and Disaster Management students studying at Bulanık Vocational School went to Hatay and joined AFAD teams.

In line with the decisions taken by the Higher Education Coordination Group established under the chairmanship of Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, our university started to provide services to AFAD, Akut and other official institutions with its institutional vehicles.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat stated that since the first day of the disaster, the work has been carried out together with official institutions and that they have fulfilled their duties as a university immediately. He stated that philanthropists and voluntary organizations from Muş also made intensive contributions to the works.

Rector Polat also stated that all communication channels of the university were used to bring disaster victims and aid lovers together and that they gave information about how and where to make in-kind and cash aid, how to use AFAD emergency application, SABİM, CİMER Earthquake Emergency and SesVer websites.
