2. Career Days Will Contribute to Our Students' Career Planning
The two-day “2. Career Days” event, organized jointly by Career Development Application and Research Center (KARGEM) and the Turkish Employment Agency Muş Provincial Directorate (İŞKUR), attracted great interest from our students.
The event was held at 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center. Deputy Mayor Aydın Özarslan, İŞKUR Provincial Director Mehmet Emin Taylan, SGK Provincial Director Ramazan Turan, Muş Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Gün, Culture and Tourism Provincial Director Mehmet Şengül, Muş Science Industry and Technology Director Recep Kotan, İŞKUR Deputy Provincial Director Ahmet Sağlık, DAKA Mus Investment Support Office Coordinator Dr. Muhammed Ali Yıldırım, Deputy Secretary General Uğur İnan Kaki, Director of KARGEM Dr. Member Teymur Erol, KARGEM Deputy Director Res. Assist. Fatma Betül Şengönül Kozak, our academic & administrative staff and students attended the event.
Making the opening speech of the program, Erol stated that they encouraged students to see and analyze the opportunities of the age we live in, and that they organized various activities in this direction so that students could take part in quality projects for both their education and career goals. Erol, who advised students to turn to promising professions while planning their careers, continued his words as follows: “In our age where information and information technologies come to the fore, you need to force your capacity. Do not be afraid to be an entrepreneur.”
İŞKUR Provincial Director Mehmet Emin Taylan emphasized that business life is important in terms of determining private life and social life, and said, “Having a job that you love and is interested in is a key element of success and happiness in life. ‘I do whatever it takes’ has no equivalent today, so specialize in one area.” Taylan emphasized that everyone needs a minimum of education today, but it is necessary to be self-sacrificing in order to be more qualified. He stated that as an institution, they provide various services for employers and job seekers, and as the provincial directorate, they contributed to the learning and experience of 3481 people in 2021. Stating that the shaping of labor force qualifications and employment in line with the needs of the sectors is among their priorities, Taylan added, “Coming together of employers and qualified workforce is also of great importance, so this event is very valuable in terms of introducing young people to the labor market. I hope that this organization will be beneficial for all stakeholders and participants.”
In his message, Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat states that employment is one of the most important problems of our time, adding that there should be a close cooperation between associate, undergraduate and graduate programs, educational institutions that train qualified personnel, and institutions that provide employment. He stated that the strong relations between the institutions that provide resources and opportunities for employment will help the workforce to be well-equipped for business life, and underlined that this organization is important for students' career planning. He congratulated Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş, Dr Teymur Erol and İŞKUR Deputy Provincial Director Ahmet Sağlık for their contributions to the organization of the program and thanked to Deputy Mayor Aydın Özarslan, İŞKUR Provincial Director Mehmet Emin Taylan and all the guests who attended the opening.
The program continued with seminars after the performance of the folk-dance team. After Yusuf Akar's informative presentation on İŞKUR Institution Introduction and Activities, Job and Vocational Counselor Filiz Başdoğan gave Body Language and Interview Techniques Training to the students. CLICK Games Founder Ali Özer shared his experiences as a young entrepreneur. Finally, Lecturer Yahya Adanır talked about the deadlines for International Student Exchange Programs (Erasmus, Mevlana).
After the plaque was presented, the guests visited the exhibition of Kenan Demir and the stands of student groups and companies.
