Our Rector attended the Regional Development Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program Meeting

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican attended the meeting hosted by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University under the chairmanship of Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

 

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yasar Karadağ attended the meeting on behalf of our university, which was selected as a Pilot State University in Animal Husbandry within the scope of Regional Development Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program.

Making the opening speech of the meeting, YÖK President Özvar stated that as the Council of Higher Education, in line with the goal of "increasing diversity in higher education" in the 11th Development Plan, they attach importance to a planning understanding and approach focused on diversity, differentiation and regional development in all processes of higher education and said, "We evaluate our work on the mission differentiation-oriented specialization of our universities, which is one of our most important initiatives in the nature of structural change, in this context and we intend to continue our activities in this field by strengthening our universities and all our stakeholders. Within the scope of the Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program, which is currently being carried out by our presidency with the participation of 22 universities, it is aimed to effectively use the natural, economic, commercial, industrial and social potential of the province and region where it is located, to contribute to the development of local economic life, and to train the human resources needed by the region, in addition to the primary activities of universities such as education and training and research and development."

Making a statement on the subject, Rector Alican stated that as a Pilot State University in Animal Husbandry, in addition to education and training activities, research and development studies on cattle and sheep breeding in line with the natural and economic resources of Muş continue. Rector Alican said, "In this direction, the Buffalo Breeding Project under the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and the Milk Quantity in Buffalo Cows and Growth and Development in Young Buffaloes, Monitoring and Evaluation Project, which we carry out jointly with the Buffalo Breeders Association in Muş Province for breeding selection, continue. In addition, our AgroPark and Farmer Training Center projects, whose preparations have been completed, will be implemented as soon as possible."
