MAUN to Host the 9th Oncology Days

MAUN is hosting the 9th Oncology Days on May 25-29 with the theme "Women's Cancers". The 9th Oncology Days that aims to provide people information on women's cancers, draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis and create social awareness on the subject will be organized in collaboration with the Young Accumulation Association along with ONKO-SEV, World Health Organization, European Union Presidency, Turkish National Agency and Erasmus Program.

Salih Yüce, the president of the Young Accumulation Association, met MAUN Rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, and shared the latest situation regarding the preparations to be made for Oncology Days. Stating that he is pleased with the university and national and international non-governmental organizations meeting on a common ground that will benefit the society, Rector Polat highlighted that this great international meeting would make extremely important contributions to the socio-cultural structure, economy and academic studies in the province, and thanked the Young Accumulation Association for being part of this event.

Mr. Yüce stated that their primary goal was to protect women, who are the source of the society, against cancer, emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and take preventive measures. Emphasizing the great importance of sharing experiences and good practices at national and international level, Mr. Yüce underlined the support of universities that shape societies. In this context, he said that he was particularly happy for the valuable contributions of MAUN.

The 9th Oncology Days will bring members of the parliement, scientists, experts, non-governmental organizations from different countries, artists, cancer patients and national/international participants. MAUN will host hundreds of scientists within a series of events that also include a four-month training.
