MAUN Strengthens in Science and Research

Our Vice Rector for research Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş represented our University at the "Competency Analysis of Universities by Field" meeting organized by TÜBİTAK and attended by many universities.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal attended the meeting, where a series of explanatory presentations were made in order to evaluate the competence analysis report outputs of universities and to develop strategies based on these reports. Many issues such as Research and Development (R&D) management strategies and management of research, programs to support scientific and technological research projects of universities and industrial R&D projects support programs were also discussed at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting moderated by Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, stated that he sees science and research as the key to achieving the goals of the national technology move and said: "Our aim is to make Turkey the address of R&D and innovation by realizing scientific and technological transformation."

Making a statement on the subject, Vice Rector Çaydaş stated that our university has gained significant momentum in managing scientific research and education together and said, "This synergy in research and education has enabled us to achieve important outputs and achievements in various fields such as display technologies, food safety, atomic physics, field crops, organic-inorganic chemistry, food biotechnology, mathematics, modeling and simulation."

"In addition, our university shows its potential in areas such as space and planetary science, language and literature, earth science and experimental physics, which produce few but high quality outputs. We recognize the need for strategic planning to increase the volume and outputs in these areas. In addition, as a university, we carry out studies in a wide spectrum of fields such as religious sciences, philosophy and education. Although the quality level is not yet at the desired level, the studies carried out in these fields give us hope about the potential of Muş Alparslan University to continue contributing to science in the future. This activity, which is carried out regularly within the scope of TÜBİTAK's strategy of planning the future of scientific and technological research and channeling universities in this direction, aims to reveal the existing potential of universities, create opportunities for cooperation and improve research management. In this context, we aim to analyze how effective a role we play in science and research as a university and how this role will continue in the future, and to include these valuable conclusions in our strategic planning in order to strengthen the role of our university in the developing science and technology ecosystem. Muş Alparslan University will continue to take steps to strengthen its place in Turkey's science, technology and innovation ecosystem. We would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, who has been with us and supported us in every success our university has achieved so far, for his support in this process."
