MAUN Hosted Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özcan
MEF University Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özcan was the guest of a series of events at MAUN.
Özcan attended the seminar titled "University at School: A Model Proposal for Restructuring Teacher Education in Turkey" coordinated with the cooperation of our university's Career Research and Development Center (KARGEM), Eastern Anatolian Development Agency (DAKA) and Youth Employment and Education Faculty of our university. Özcan, who also provided examples from his own studies in the seminar, drew attention to the sanctity and sensitivity of the teaching profession. In his presentation, Özcan mentioned about the internship processes in teaching and focused on a new teacher education model, and stated that the quality of teachers can be increased with a model in which practices are dominant, and therefore, it can be much better in the education of new generations.
In addition to Rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Prof. Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş, KARGEM Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teymur Erol, academic staff and students attended the program, coordinated by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Esin Kaya.
Seminars to teachers
After the seminar he delivered at our university, Prof. Dr. Özcan met with the teachers at Muş Teachers' House. At the meeting organized by the Education faculty of MAUN, Özcan delivered a seminar on "Project Based Teaching" to the teachers.
He also visited Tekyol Primary and Secondary Schools
Özcan, who came together with teachers and teacher candidates in the seminars, visited Tekyol Village Primary and Secondary Schools. Özcan was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Esin Kaya, and the wife of MAUN Rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, Nilüfer Polat. Özcan exchanged information with the teachers at the school, mentioned about his theory of education and asked questions to the teachers.
