Aid Collected in the Campaign Launched by Our Rector Has Been Sent to AFAD Account
In the last link of the aid campaign initiated by our Rector Polat by donating one of his salary, 858,023 TL was collected and deposited into the account of the Ministry of Interior AFAD
Our university has sent all its facilities to the region, both in kind and in cash aid, in terms of tools-equipment and technical support after the earthquakes that directly affected 11 provinces and approximately 15 million citizens in our country, indirectly affect Turkey and our heartland.
Afterwards, Rector Polat said, “As an example, I would like to express that I will donate a salary to the disaster victims in addition to what I have done so far. I expect and want our academic administrators to pay at least one bare salary, from our administrative unit supervisors at least half of their salaries, and from all our remaining staff to give at least 10% of all government payments they receive in a month – and of course, more if they want to. Our unit chiefs will collect your aids in one account by means of a commission and the accumulated amount will be transferred to AFAD's account by our rector, accompanied by a report. The lists will be shared with our staff in order to ensure that the process is carried out transparently.” With the participation of our university staff and their families, 858,023 TL was collected Rector Polat and Secretary General Harun Demir deposited the collected aid money into the AFAD account of the Ministry of Interior AFAD accountat İşbank Muş Branch. A total of 1,095,023 TL of aid has been collected at our University so far, in the campaigns in which the personnel participated in the campaigns with 152,000 TL and the staff's wives 85,000 TL, within the scope of cash assistance, as well as the in-kind aids sent to the earthquake area with large numbers of buses and trucks.
Rector Polat, who made a statement on the subject, said the following in the message he sent to all the personnel supporting the campaign: “May Allah accept your good deeds and aids. Although many of our friends helped in different places at different times, both themselves and their families contributed to these campaigns Your help will definitely be rewarded. I am proud of you.
